Before Pixie began adventuring, she lived in the woods with other Pixies, Nixies, and Sprites.  One day, however, she decided to leave the sanctuary of the forest and venture into the strange world of Ravens Bluff.  While frolicing through the streets, Pixie came upon a group of performers.  She was enthralled and decided to watch this strange event.  After the performance, some of the performers came up to Pixie.

"That's a nice costume," a tall male stated.
"It's not a costume," Pixie said confusedly.
"Oh, I see we have a true performer," his female companion chimed in, "And what is your name, little gnome?"
"Pixie!"
"Truly, this must be a sign," replied the male, "Follow us."

And so Pixie was escorted to the Ravens Bluff Bard's Guild where many members begged her to join its company.  Pixie refused because she was still new to the city, but she promised to think about it.

As a gift of friendship, one of the bards offered her a Bard's Guild Marionette, who Pixie promptly named Nixie.  From then on, Pixie's first spell she memorized every day was Unseen Servant... for how could a little Pixie have strength to carry such a large item?
